Die Gemeinsamkeiten und Unterschiede von höfischen und bürgerlichen Künstlern untersucht das internationale Symposium. Anhand von Fallbeispielen, aber auch mit thematisch weiter gefassten Vorträgen, werden nicht nur ihre Arbeitsbedingungen, sondern auch sozialer Status, ihre Aufgaben und künstlerische Bedeutung beleuchtet.
